Has Peak TV reached its peak? We are all exhausted. Do not get us wrong – we are grateful for the avalanche of the big little screens. There has never been a better time to become an entertainment fan. But with a record of more than 500 scripted series airing this year, massive nine-figure deals scattered left and right, and a wealth of powerful streamers coming up every day, it's a lot to keep up. And the flood of first-rate content makes the annual Emmys sorting look like a hint game (it was …) Stranger things, in the living room with the remote control!)
On Tuesday, July 16, this year's nominees will be officially announced. Before the actual business here are our assumptions, which shows and which stars are nominated.

Best drama series
This is us (NBC)
Kill Eve (BBC America)
game of Thrones (HBO)
Better call Saul (AMC)
The last season of the Goliath game of Thrones has been widely criticized, but we are still talking about the largest and most popular TV series. The Emmys will not let it out of the big dance, even if it's not a worthy contender this year.
Best actress in a drama series
Mandy Moore (This is us)
Robin Wrighthouse of cards)
Emilia Clarke (game of Thrones)
Sandra OhKill Eve)
Jodie Comer (Kill Eve)
Is there any way Oh and Comer can share this award? Ask for a friend …
Best actor in a drama series
Sterling K. Brown (This is us)
Jason Bateman (Ozark)
Kit Harington (game of Thrones)
Bob Odenkirk (Better call Saul)
Richard Madden (bodyguard)
Billy Porter (pose)
I do not tell the Emmys how to do their job. I'm just saying that they should make way for Stephen James (homecoming). He is on the way to becoming a big star. Now is the time to get on the train while there is still room.
Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series
Rhea sea horn (Better call Saul)
Lena Headeygame of Thrones)
Maisie Williams (game of Thrones)
Sophie Turner (game of Thrones)
Susan Kelechi WatsonThis is us)
How could Lena Headey never win an Emmy for her work on Game of Thrones? It is unfortunate that in the last two seasons she was only scowling and drinking wine. It does not feel like her character is active enough to claim this deserved statue.
Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series
Bobby Cannavale (homecoming)
Jonathan Banks (Better call Saul)
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (game of Thrones)
Peter Dinklagegame of Thrones)
Kieran culkin (succession)
Psst, give it to Hot Priest, you cowards!
Best comedy series
The wonderful Mrs. Maisel (Amazon)
The good place (NBC)
Russian doll (Netflix)
This is one of the deeper categories this year with countless potential shows not mentioned above (Hello, Netflix Dead for me). Do not be surprised if one or two curveballs are thrown into the announcement time. But let us try not to succumb to curiosity. Although it was a long time ago, Season 2 of GLOW Netflix may have been the best season of original programming ever produced.
Best actress in a comedy series
Rachel Brosnahan (The wonderful Mrs. Maisel)
Phoebe Waller Bridge (fleabag)
Pamela Aldon (Better things)
Tracee Ellis Ross (Black-ish)
Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Veep)
Do not be surprised if Natasha Lyonne (Russian doll) or Aidy Bryant (Shrill) make their way to this position next week. But when all is said and done, we think it will either be Brosnahan for the consecutive trophies or Waller Bridge for a long-awaited second season of fleabag that somehow exceeded the hype.
Best actor in a comedy series
Ted DansonThe good place)
Bill Hader (Barry)
Jim Carrey (joke)
Don CheadleBlack Monday)
Ricky GervaisAfter the live)
Last year, Henry Winkler (Barry) beat Danson in the best supporting category. This year, maybe the latter could sneak in for victory … Ah, who are we kidding? Nobody beats Hader afterwards BarryIs an incredible second season.
Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series
Sarah Goldberg (Barry)
Kate McKinnon (Saturday night live)
Alex BorsteinThe wonderful Mrs. Maisel)
Olivia Colman (fleabag)
D'Arcy Carden (The good place)
this is that Sophie's choice from the Emmys; we could easily see Betty Gilpin (GLOW) and Marin Hinkle (The wonderful Mrs. Maisel) also recognized. Ultimately, Goldberg's impressive monologue may prove too juicy and tempting to go over it.
Best Supporting Actor in the Comedy Series
Tony Hale (Veep)
Kenan ThompsonSaturday night live)
Tony Shalhoub (The wonderful Mrs. Maisel)
Alan Arkin (The Kominsky method)
Tituss Burgess (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt)
If it's even possible, Shalhoub's Abe Weissman is even funnier in the second season of Amazon's brave Pied Piper hit by Amy Sherman-Palladino than the first time. No need to complicate this.
