Security sources quoted by this means have indicated that the woman, identified as Sarah Taleb, left France to join the Islamic State, although she was now trying to contact the French authorities to return to the country.
Thus, these sources have added that the suspect was detained in the vicinity of the French Embassy in Ankara and stressed that she will be deported to the European country after being questioned in relation to her alleged ties to the jihadist group.
The Turkish authorities announced in September the arrest of the alleged leader of the Islamic State, identified as Mahmut Ozden. Ozden was arrested during an operation in the Adana province (south), according to the Interior Minister, Suleyman Soylu.
The Islamic State, which Turkey declared a terrorist group in 2013, has carried out several attacks on Turkish soil in recent years in which at least 300 people have died and hundreds more have been injured.
