Debenhams chief executive Sergio Bucher is expected to step down as the troubled department store enters a new phase of ownership of its lenders.

In other retail news, the March of 1.4 per cent higher than the same time last year when the Beast from the East pummeled many UK high streets, a report has found.

And TSB has become the first retailer to pay customers.
