The Galaxy Z Fold 2 has a few months of being presented, and even less of having arrived in Mexico, but there is already talk of its successor and, according to the most recent report from South Korea, will take a big leap in the evolution of smartphones.
Samsung picks up the pace
ETNews, Korean medium that has a respectable record of leaks and reports of advance information, reports what Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be Samsung’s first smartphone with an under-screen camera, and it will arrive well into next year.
In accordance with ETNews, whose sources are people in the industry with knowledge on the subject, Samsung has finalized plans to implement its camera solution under the panel in the Galaxy Z Fold 3, smartphone that will hit the market in the third quarter of 2021, as it happened this year with its predecessor.
According to the information revealed by the sources, Samsung’s solution to incorporate the camera under the screen is a special panel, of its own manufacture, that in the area where the sensor is housed It has larger pixels that ensure the passage of light and allow taking pictures. Along with this piece of hardware, Samsung is working on developing an image correction algorithm to improve the quality of photos.
Currently there is only one smartphone with a camera under the screen, the Axon 20 5G from ZTE, a company that “got ahead” of Samsung because it has long been said that in 2020 we would see the first smartphone of the Korean company with this technology, but it did not happen . On the other hand, Xiaomi recently revealed that it already has its own under-screen camera solution ready, so it is likely that next year we will also see its implementation on devices.
There is no doubt that 2021 will be an exciting year, but for now we can only wait.
