HBO's mission, all official photos and footage of game of Thrones Season 8 is a mystery, with a new teaser completely on Dragonstone's Painted Table card. Like some of the early season 7th season's trailers, this video does not include any upcoming season material – and no people. Instead, we see ice eating the north, as well as the figures of the Drewolf and the Dragon. Meanwhile, the fire devours the Lannister Lion of the South. They meet in the middle in a flashy pop of obsidian (or, if you like, kite glass). Yes, to jog your memory, we've seen these parts and this table before.

Everything works like a clever dodge – a way to promote the season without giving anything away. But should we try to read something more in this 39-second clip? Sure, why not? After all, "last season"Sigils' curious saw that Daenerys stone dragon crumbled and turned into a blue eye – which stood for the Night King, but also alludes to the biggest moment of the 7th season.

So what should we do with this year's tease? Well, the ice is easy enough to understand. The winter is in Westeros and is heralded by the Night King and his rising army of the dead. We could only consider that George R. R. Martin Sage means A song of ice and fire and leave it at that. But I think it might be fruitful to pay more attention to this fire. We both had reports Officially and unofficially, larger fires involving several significant game of Thrones Filming locations during season 8 of the show. (What else do you think would happen to all the flying kites?)

It has long been believed that Dragonfire would be a useful weapon against the army of the dead. But is this the only snack here? Could be. On the other hand, it may be important to burn the Lannister Lion in this video. "Burn them all" sounds like a Targaryen tactic – but could Cersei, Jaime, or Tyrion (at least two of them are known to burn their opponents with wildfire) make a fiery move in Season 8? We have to wait until April to find out.
