Gareth Gates has reportedly reclaimed the £ 30,000 engagement ring from his ex-fiancee Faye Brookes after they split up.

The 35-year-old singer has allegedly demanded that the actress from Coronation Street return the ring he bought in January when he asked Faye the question.

The actress was reportedly "surprised" by Gareth's request for the return of the ring, which has a 4-carat diamond.

One source told The Sun that breaking the relationship was "very annoying for both sides".

They continued, "Gareth asked Faye to hand over the ring after they broke up."

The source went on to say that Faye, who plays Kate Connor in the ITV soap, "was surprised, but gave it back to him without fuss."

Faye is reportedly in a dilemma about her next move and has "canceled her plans to move to London."

The Sun has reported that Gareth convinced Faye that "people just wanted to make money with them and not trust them," which prompted them to ask who they should turn to after the split.

The couple have been a couple for about seven years, but named it last September as the day in September.

This breakup was short-lived and they soon rejoined and became engaged only four months later.

Mirror Online asked Gareth's representatives for a comment.
