George HW Bush's companion dog pays tribute to his master

FPresident US President George H.W. Bush's companion dog joined those who paid tribute and, on a public viewing day, visited his master's casket in the Capitol rotunda.

The two-year-old dog named Sully has been with the former president since June 2018 until his death on Friday.

He was named after retired captain Sully Sullenberger, who landed a US Airways flight in the Hudson River off Manhattan in 2009, after both engines were shut down by a bird strike. All 155 people on board have survived.

The yellow Labrador was accompanied by Michele Ridge and former HHS Secretary Tom Ridge, along with Americans in wheelchairs who benefited from the US Disability Act signed by Bush more than two decades ago.
