Gogglebox apologized to Eamonn Holmes after accusing the show of “heinous” editing.
This Morning presenter and host wife Ruth Langsford appeared in the first episode of the new Celebrity Gogglebox series on Friday night.
But following the airing of the show, Eamonn came out on Twitter after receiving negative feedback on the comments he had made on the BBC Ambulance show.
The 60-year-old said he was “injured beyond imagination” after some of his comments on the emotional episode, which felt a 10-year-old boy having to revive his father after calling 999, was cut from the last change.
Eamonn was heard of taking Ruth to hospital when she started labor with her son Jack in 2002.
But after the episode he said he also shared the pain of losing his father after suffering a heart attack on the side of a road – a tragedy that said he “persecuted my family forever.”
A Gogglebox spokesman replied: “We apologized to Eamonn for what happened in this week’s episode. We understand and respect Eamonn’s feelings in such a deeply personal story.
“We made the decision to edit the episode for future repeats and All 4. We can’t wait to work with Eamonn and Ruth for the rest of the series.”
Eamonn also responded to the apologetic comment: “For those who have wrongly judged me. I think it’s important to read this. It was a bad change and let’s move on with what should be a fun experience about what is almost always a very fun program Thanks @ C4Gogglebox. “
Celebrity Gogglebox continues on Friday at 9:00 PM on Channel 4.
