Gogglebox fans have been lucky in the past two months since the show has been able to air despite the fact that the other shows need to be paused for the time being.
Channel 4’s success came back week after week with our favorite armchair critics expressing their thoughts on the week’s television.
From reality shows and Netflix series, to the latest news on the coronavirus pandemic, Gogglebox families have continued to keep viewers entertained by sharing their views on everything.
But two of the show’s most loved stars shared some bad news.
Best friends Jenny and Lee have self-isolated together so that they continue to appear on the TV show.
Although this is about to end when the duo announced that tonight’s episode (Friday, May 22) is the latest in the series. Sob.
Sharing a video on their joint Twitter account, Jenny said, “I hope you are safe and well,” before Lee said to his followers: “Isolation week nine. And unfortunately, it’s the last episode of series 15.
“I hope you like the show tonight. It was a fabulous time, wasn’t it Jen?”
He added: “It was brilliant. We hope to see you soon.”
“We’ll probably see you in September,” said Lee. “Have a nice summer, you’re fine, you’re safe. Hi for now.”
They also wrote alongside the video: “Happy #Gogglebox Friday or sorry goggleboxers the last episode of this series, but we came to the end with the dedication of @Tanialalexander and the team that put together Gogglebox every week in bulk thanks to our crew who was fantastic. I love JAL. “
And fans are just as sad.
“oh no, what?!?! LAST IN THE SERIES?! you’re kidding me. I’ll miss gogglebox until September,” tweeted one.
Another said: “Fridays will not be the same .. !!! We will miss you guys.”
“You guys were out of the light at the end of the tunnel. It was a night of laughter at our house on Friday night,” added a third.
While a quarter said: “You will both miss them! It is like losing an old friend especially during this period of time. Friday nights will not be the same.”
The success of Channel 4, which started its last run in February, sees families and friends giving their honest view on the TV week and this has continued during the coronavirus epidemic.
Channel 4 program director Ian Katz hailed Gogglebox as one of the “real miracles” as it continued to work and also revealed how they managed to do it.
If you are a big fan of the show’s stars, they are doing their best to raise money for the NHS nurses and could see you win a piece of TV history.
Gogglebox airs Friday, channel 4 at 21:00.
