Heavy rains, landslides and floods: the possible effects of tropical storm “Iota” in Mexico

The National Weather Service (SMN) of the National Water Comission (Conagua) issued a special notice in which it was reported that “a rainy storm that will be occurring in the Mexican southeast during the next few days. That will be in principle for the Cold front number 13 and by the interaction with the remnants that they have with the tripical storm Iota ”.

The meteorological phenomenon known as Iota made landfall off the coast of Nicaragua as a Category 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale. Subsequently, it weakened a tropical storm (category 3), and it moved west, affecting the Central American region. The dissipation process is expected to begin on Wednesday, November 17. A cold environment with frosts is forecast at dawn in the north, center and east of Mexico.
