The Galician hospitality these days are especially aware of the epidemiological situation. It depends on it that next week the Xunta de Galicia begins to activate a de-escalation that puts an end to the closings decreed a month ago in the sector. This Saturday, and based on the data provided by the Sergas, for the first time since January 12, Galicia manages to lower than 10,000 active cases, to 9,289 (drop to 751 in 24 hours). What’s more, hospital pressure has been reduced 740 Covid patients (73 less in one day). Relief has occurred in all health areas. However, the community has detected a rebound in new daily infections (something that is also influenced by the massive screenings that are being carried out throughout the community). For the first time this week, the community adds more than 400 new positives daily. Specifically, 418, 66 over those registered the previous day.
With regard to hospital pressure, the seven Galician health areas have experienced a drop in the total number of patients. The one in A Coruña-Cee continues as the one with the most despite having dropped by 14 in one day, up to 233, of which 56 are critics, three less.
The sanitary area of Ferrol it remains above a hundred hospitalized for coronavirus, with 108 in total –six less–, 16 of them in ICU –the same–; while that of Santiago-Barbanza stands at 100 –eight less–, of which 19 are in intensive care –one less.
Behind it is the district of Pontevedra-O Salnés, which despite falling by five the total admitted, to 89, in the ICU have risen by four, to 20.
The sanitary area of Vigo counts in the data for this Saturday 83 hospitalized with covid (+8), 19 of these critics (-1); in Ourense-Verín-O Barco they have collapsed to 68 (-28), of which eight are in intensive care (-5); and in Lugo-A Mariña-Monforte it stands at 59 (-3), 21 of them (the same) in the UCI.
Where are infections detected?
Despite the decreases in hospital pressure and in the number of active cases, new cases detected in 24 hours by all kinds of tests have risen to 418, which is 66 more than those reported the previous day.
In this context, only the health area of Pontevedra has reduced the detected Covid infections, with a total of 52 in one day – seven less. The rest have reported a rebound.
The one in A Coruña has added 150 new cases of covid compared to 87 the previous day, representing a rise of 63. The one in Vigo has detected another 68 cases (+9); that of Santiago, 50 (+12); that of Lugo, 38 (+4); that of Ferrol, 35 (+1); and that of Ourense, 25 new infections (+2).
