Hull City dropped to 21st place in the league standings after division results this afternoon.
The Tigers started the day two points behind the lower three in 19th position, but the positive results for Stoke City and Huddersfield Town moved them with a point of the lower three headed for Sunday’s trip to West Bromwich Albion.
Stoke was the surprise winner of the day based on the current form of the league, earning a 4-0 home win against Barnsley at the bet365 stadium.
Huddersfield also overtook the Tigers with a 0-0 draw at John Smith’s Stadium against Preston North End.
While Stoke and Huddersfield performed well, it was a bad day for Barnsley, Luton Town and Wigan Athletic.
Luton suffered a 5-0 defeat in Reading’s hands on Kenilworth Road, with Yakou Meite taking four of the Royals’ goals on Kenilworth Road.
Wigan suffered a 3-0 defeat in Brentford. With their deduction of 12 points at the end of the season, they would be seven points behind 21 positioned in the City.
