In the operation carried out in the urban area of Tumaco, the Military Gaula and the Police captured nine FARC dissidents who were commanded by alias El Mocho.
In flagrante delicto, nine alleged members of the illegal armed group Guerrillas Unidas del Pacífico were captured in the urban area of the municipality of Tumaco, on the coast of Nariño.
Units of the Military Gaula attached to the Hercules Joint Task Force and the National Police, carried out the raid operation that took them to a building in the Viento Libre neighborhood, which was used as a storage center for war material of said structure.
At the site, two rifles, a shotgun, three pistols, a hand grenade, an improvised explosive device, 10 vendors, abundant ammunition of different calibers, administration and communications material were seized.
It is presumed that the captured and the seized material would be under the command of alias El Mocho, who is in charge of coordinating criminal activities for this organization of the FARC dissidents.
The nine captured and the material were made available to the competent authorities for prosecution.
