The start of the PSG season has been marked by a series of adversities that have conditioned the Parisians. Those of Thomas Tuchel finished last year in August and started it just two weeks later, exposing players to an unprecedented schedule and that has multiplied the number of injured considerably.
Between the coronavirus and the injuries, PSG has not been able to count on practically any game with the entire squad. The most important injuries have been those of Neymar and Verratti, together with that of Mbappé, which have caused the European runner-up to be one defeat away from elimination from the Champions League. The November 24 game against Leipzig is life or death for the Ligue 1 champion, which in principle could recover its three best players for the contest.
Nowadays, PSG has nine injured in the infirmary: Bernat, Kehrer, Verratti, Icardi, Letellier, Draxler, Neymar, Mbappé and Moise Kean, who was the last to join after leaving the concentration of the Italian team. Tuchel, who has already complained about the schedule, hopes to have several of the injured available for next Friday’s momentous match against Monaco, as well as the Champions League match against Leipzig.
