Inter want to complete a £ 20m move for Christian Eriksen in the next 48 hours.
The sports director of the Serie A club Piero Ausilio flew to London to negotiate the final details and conclude the agreement with Tottenham.
Eriksen, 27, had been reluctant to leave in January because he was a free agent in the summer, but Inter’s huge £ 160,000 a week contract offer plus his downfall with Spurs fans left him ready to leave now .
Inter are pushing for THREE Premier League deals concluded in January as they attempt to broker a £ 6m deal for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud and Ashley Young of Manchester United.
United doesn’t want to let Young go now, but the veteran is ready to go and has refused a new deal at Old Trafford and will sign a pre-contract with Inter if he can’t leave this month.
Chelsea are willing to let go of Giroud for game time as they connect with former Blues boss Antonio Conte in Italy.
Inter tried to get Eriksen cheap, so far he has offered £ 12 million and has talked about a player deal plus money, but Spurs wants £ 20 million even if his deal expires in six months.
They are still somewhat separated but Inter are confident since Eriksen is pushing for the move now, as Spurs fans have started shooting after his reluctance to sign a new deal.
Spurs could use the money to turn the Giovani Lo Celso loan agreement into a permanent exchange for £ 27 million this month or they can buy it for £ 35 million in the summer.
Tottenham also entered into an 18-month loan agreement for Benfica’s Gedson Fernandes.
