James Rodriguez agent Jorge Mendes reportedly discussed with Manchester United and Juventus representatives about a possible summer trip from Real Madrid for his client.
James made only 13 appearances Los Blancos this season, scoring only once, and their manager Zinedine Zidane doesn’t see the player as part of his long-term plans.
The 28-year-old is said to be eager to move forward in search of regular first-team football, and according to Spanish publication AS Mendes spoke to a number of clubs from Italy and England, with Juve and United the two highest-profiled.
James joined Madrid for the first time in 2014 on the back of a superb World Cup for Colombia, where he won the Golden Boot after scoring six times in the tournament.
Since then, however, he has not been able to meet expectations and failed to impress in a two-year loan period at Bayern Munich between 2017-2019.
His contract with Madrid will expire at the end of next season, and the giants of the La Liga desperately need to sell it sooner rather than later instead of allowing him to leave with a free transfer in 2021.
It is therefore thought that it may be available for a fraction of the 63 million pounds that spent on signing it from Monaco almost six years ago.
Colombian legend Carlos Valderrama recently urged James to leave Madrid for the sake of his career.
Speaking Radio Caracol , said: “James is old enough to make his decision now. If I were me, I would run away from Madrid.
“He is good enough for any team to play. I would have no doubts for a moment. He is a great player, he has already shown that.
“He can start for any other team, he has the quality to play anywhere in the world.”
