Former striker Hull KR and Warrington Jordan Cox died at the age of 27.
The benevolent Rugby League fund announced the news of Cox’s death, stating that “it happened at home, in the hull, in circumstances deemed not suspicious and unrelated to the current public health situation.”
Cox began his career with the Hull KR home club and continued to play for Warrington, Sheffield, York and Doncaster.
KR owner Neil Hudgell paid tribute to Cox, saying “Jordan’s death was a terrible shock to all of us at the club. I last saw him in a reserve game and exchanged a few jokes with him.
“Jordan has always seemed so full of life and spirit and his loss is so sad. I would like to express my sincere condolences to his mom, girlfriend and family in this horrible moment.”
