From this Friday, February 19, the mythical ‘The Muppet Show’ is now available on Disney +. Five seasons with Kermit the Frog, Peggy the Pig, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, the Swedish Chef and many more starring in a curious variety show that originally aired between 1976 and 1981.
To celebrate Entertainment Weekly has published an image that does not represent the most ambitious crossover in history, but the most adorable: Gustavo’s nephew, Robin Frog, in Grogu’s transporter, aka Baby Yoda, the character from ‘The Mandalorian’. The hilarious image is a parody of the posters of the ‘Star Wars’ series that changes “This is the way” (“This is the way”) by “This is the yaaaay!” and announces a series called ‘The Frogdalorian’ (in Spanish we could say ‘La mandaloRana’).
If you go to the American media you can see other posters parodying other Disney + titles, such as the Swedish chef starring in his own documentary series a la ‘The world according to Jeff Goldblum’, Dr. Teeth and the Band of Chaos with their version of ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ o Gonzo and Camilla as ‘Scarlet Witch and Vision’.
The Muppet Show
Produced by The Jim Henson Company, ‘The Muppet Show’ was an all-age show featuring top league guests such as Steve Martin, Elton John, Liza Minnelli, Alice Cooper, Julie Andrews, Bernadette Peters, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, Gene Kelly o Mark Hamill.
Now at Disney + we can relive or discover for the first time a much loved moment in television history. In addition, the platform has included titles such as the movie ‘The Muppets on Treasure Island’, which celebrates its 25th anniversary in March, or the series ‘More Muppets than ever’.
