La Jornada – The decrease in Covid-19 infections persists, Alcocer and López-Gatell reiterate

The Secretary of Health, Jorge Alcocer and the Undersecretary of the branch, Hugo López Gatell reiterated that the decrease in infections by COVID 19 persists. At the press conference of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the Secretary of Foreign Relations Marcelo Ebrard, announced that this week one million 856 thousand 355 Sputnik V and CanSino vaccines will be received.

López Gatell explained that in sum, the country has received 25 million 424 thousand 355 doses. And Ebrard said that during his visit to Russia, between April 25 and 29, he reached an agreement to accelerate the filling and packaging of Sputnik V in national territory.

And above all, he argued that the necessary tests of the Sputnik Light vaccine, which would be applied every six months, will be presented to Mexico. And in addition, the Russian laboratory Vector will also send to our country the tests of a new biological developed on that site.

The head of Mexican diplomacy also explained that during a brief stay in Spain, he met with the head of innovation to strengthen projects and collaborative work on innovation in the field of biologicals.

And he described the total number of vaccines received by the country: Pfizer, 10 million 600 thousand; Sinovac 5 million; AstraZeneca, 4 million 884 thousand; Cansino, 3 million 202 thousand; and, Sputnik V one million 900 thousand.
