Unai Emery will sweat during a late fitness test Granit Xhaka before the Monday outing to Watford.

The Spanish coach is expected to lift his team away from the side that defeated Napoli 2-0 on Thursday in the Europa League. The return leg of the game starts just 72 hours after Arsenal came into the field on Vicarage Road.

Arsenal have confirmed that the Swiss international, who resumed training with the first team on Wednesday, was still being examined for problems in his left groin that have excluded him from the club's three games since the international break.

One player he has to relinquish is Sokratis Papastathopoulos, who drew his first yellow card of the season following a 1-0 defeat at Everton last week. Lucas Torreira, however, is available for his first Premier League game since the derby in North London, where he had blocked three games with his red card.

The Uruguayan limped out of the win against Napoli, was replaced by Mohamed Elneny, which led to fears that he might feel hurt. However, Torreira did not need treatment after being replaced and was not on the list of injuries prior to the Monday-to-Watford visit on Monday.

Apart from Xhaka and Sokratis, Emery has a nearly clean bill. The long-term absences Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding and Danny Welbeck are the only players that are not available to him.

Many of those who played against Napoli seemed to suffer full-time cramps, and Emery said he could reserve some players against Watford for the second leg at Stadio San Paolo.

"The players were tired because they worked a lot," he said. "But I prefer to end this way and not finish any games where there is a chance to continue the game, I know, and the players also know that every player is ready to play and help.

"On Monday I'm sure we'll play different players [try] to find the same power. Some players who have physically played with this challenging performance may need something else. "

Arsenal probably XI (3-4-2-1): Leno; Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal; Maitland-Niles, Guendouzi, Xhaka, Kolasinac; Mkhitaryan, Iwobi; Lacazette
