The M25 is completely closed after the fire of a heavyweight.

The truck is fully lit near Potters Bar and the Hertfordshire police closed the road in both directions.

The incident is underway near the 24 and 23 exits of the roadway in a clockwise direction.

However, due to the severity of the fire, both sides of the highway were closed, with firefighters and police on the scene.

A Hertfordshire police statement said: "A big truck is on fire on the M25 and the road is closed back and forth at exit 24 of the Potters Bar.

"Motorists are advised to avoid the area while emergency services deal with the incident.

"We were called at 5 pm and several fire engines are currently on the scene."

Throughout Hertfordshire, there are currently 11 km waiting lines on the road in a clockwise direction.

There are currently four miles of waiting lines that leave for Essex on the roadway in a counterclockwise direction.

With both queues becoming more numerous, it is advisable for motorists to find an alternative route if they intend to drive on the highway tonight, as the queues waiting should stay all night.
