Loan flop Gonzalo Higuain returns to Juventus when Chelsea decides that the striker's loan is NOT extended

Chelsea have no plans to extend Gonzalo Higuain's loan and will send it back to Juventus after the Europa League final.
Higuain has scored only five goals in 21 games since arriving in January.
There is a possibility to extend the loan for another season for £ 15.7m or to buy it directly for £ 31.6m.

Juventus does not want Higuain to return because he has two years to make a lucrative contract, but his Premier League goal was bad and his form disappointing.
It is unlikely to improve dramatically at 31 and Chelsea does not expect an option despite the prospect of a FIFA transfer ban. Maurizio Sarri, who had successfully worked with Higuain at Napoli, identified him as a center forward, which could bring his new team to click.
Chelsea has spent a lot of time and effort separating it from its existing loan contract with AC Milan in January. But Higuain was not impressed – he missed the odds and struggled to reach the pace demanded in English football.

Croatia midfielder Kovacic has borrowed the season and was transformed into an alternative to Jorginho by Sarri in the role of strong playmaker. He could be part of the conversation while Real is trying to sign a deal to sign Eden Hazard, who has only one more year on his contract.
