Traffic is delayed on the M56 this evening due to an earlier multi-vehicle accident.

North West Motorway Police took to the vehicle following the accident, which is reported to have at least five vehicles.

As a result two lanes of the Westbound M56 were closed between J12 (Runcorn) and J14 (Hapsford) Inrix reporting that all traffic was just done due to the collision.

Traffic is still delayed in the area by about 30 minutes as a result of the two lanes having been blocked earlier, but highways England report that all lanes have now been reopened.
