Make sure you don’t have any of these 17 inaccurate Google Play apps on your phone – BGR

The endless game of sketchy apps from the Google Play Store app shows no sign of giving up early, as researchers from the cybersecurity company Bitdefender on Tuesday identified a total of 17 Google Play apps – with over half a million installations including how use multiple tricks to offer users unwanted advertisements.

App developers have found great success using a variety of tricks to keep their apps under the radar of Google’s security protections covering its application market, but the fact is that too many skates pass easily. They do this by using tactics such as those that these apps rely on, such as showing ads at random times and spreading their code across multiple files, even if they also make sure their code does what the Google Play Store description promises, which it would seem to imply that they are otherwise legitimate.

At the time of this writing, Google has been informed of the apps “and the reported apps are taken offline,” according to Bitdefender, which continued in its report Tuesday:

“While not tactically harmful, the tactics (used by these apps) to sneak Google Play and dodge Google’s control system are traditionally associated with malware. Wait 48 hours before hiding their presence on the device, split app code across multiple resource files and keeping ad display at bay for up to 4 hours after installing the app are among the tactics these developers use to implant their apps on Google Play. “

The report includes a number of user complaints left in the Google Play store after trying the various apps:

Users have complained about the battery running out and there is also the possibility that one or more of these apps may add even worse practices in the updated versions of the app, which is why it is recommended to uninstall one of the following apps:
