Ex-striker Josh Maja from Sunderland scored a hat-trick for Bordeaux last night, causing some sad and frustrating reactions from Northeast club fans.
The 20-year-old scored three times and brought in a draft when the French side beat Matmut Atlantique Nimes 6-0 in Ligue 1 yesterday.
Maja had his third season opener in the league, with most of his bets coming in as a substitute.
The English striker has scored seven goals in 22 games since joining Sunderland's French club in January.
Maja was in great shape for the Black Cats in the first half of the 2018/19 season. With 16 goals, she scored the most goals and brought them to the top of the first league.
However, the striker had stalled with the signing of a new contract, and since his contract expired in the summer, Sunderland decided to make money instead of letting him run away as a free agent.

The northeastern club struggled to find a replacement with its current capabilities. Will Grigg, Charlie Wyke and Marc McNulty scored only four league goals this year.
The exit from Maja still seems to be painful for many Sunderland fans, as evidenced by their frustrated reactions to last night's hat-trick.

At the moment I'm lying in bed and I'm always in my head, what could have been in there. We did not sell Majas and then continue and sign Grigg. #SAFC 👍🔴⚪️

Backheel on the weekend volley, hat-trick for Josh Maja tonight. It is virtually impossible to replace natural finishers, which we remember #SAFC every week.

Pleased with Maja, obviously disappointed that he does not #SAFC But his ambitions would probably always surpass Donald and Co.

With Maja one can only say that he has learned and trained with Jermain Defoe. The biggest mistake is that you do not keep him here. #SAFC

Remember, when people said last year that Maja was too lazy and we did not need him, even though we were single-handed for half a season. #safc

Makes you sick, right? He was the difference in the last season season
