Barca seemed on the verge of landing the French World Cup star – but her failure to make an official move has opened the door for United.

And the club bosses could now prepare for the Belgian killer Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba with currently 89 million pounds leave the team.

The 28-year-old Griezmann gave hope to the Old Trafford team when he claimed his future could now be outside Spain.

After France's 4-0 victory in Euro 2020 qualifying on Tuesday in Andorra, he said: "I do not know if I'll stay in La Liga.

"I know where I want to go, I'm also interested in ending this as soon as possible."

Griezmann fought Atletico last month, announcing that he plans to join Barca this summer.

I know where I want to go. I am also interested in ending this as soon as possible.

But he got stuck when the Catalan giants haunted a possible return from Nou Camp to the Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar.

This has encouraged United, although they are fully aware that it is a big problem not to be able to offer Griezmann Champions League football next season.

How Manchester United could compete next season by signing 95 million pounds for Griezmann and 50 million pounds for Wan-Bissaka, selling De Gea, Pogba and Lukaku

But they're ready to pay his transfer fee and meet his stunning payroll demands of around £ 450,000 a week.

PSG is also interested in bringing the striker back to France.

This puts United under pressure to find a way to convince Griezmann to lead an Old Trafford revolution under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
