Martyn Waghorn of Derby County reacts to the red card against the Nottingham Forest

Martyn Waghorn apologized to his teammates after being sent off in the Derby County 1-1 against Nottingham Forest.

Derby went to Joe Lolley’s goal with the championship game two minutes longer in terms of time in which Waghorn, in substitution, challenged Forest’s Ryan Yates.

Waghorn has received a straight red card from referee Darren England and the forward will miss matches against West Bromwich Albion, Brentford and Cardiff City.

Derby, up to 10 men, still managed to grab a last-breath equalizer through Chris Martin in the 97th minute.

Waghorn posted on Twitter: “I apologize to the guys and the team today. My intentions have never been to be reckless or cause an injury in any way, a shorter time and late equipment. I’m glad that @ RyanYates97 was ok and was able to continue! The buzz of the team we can grab a crucial point by advancing. “

Waghorn’s teammate Tom Lawrence served his second three game ban. He will also miss the game against West Brom on The Hawthorns on Wednesday.
