The girls' football team of Middlesex University has recently dropped twice against Northumberland and West Point.
On May 8, a strong Northumberland team defeated Lady Chargers 3: 0. The Lady Chargers played very well in the first half, with some solid performances by everyone in the team, said Lady Charger coach Eric Smith.
The second half was still a balanced game, but Northumberland made some mistakes.
"We really showed that we got better this year," said Coach Smith.
The Middlesex defense was led by Karime Juarez and Sarah Blake. The offense was led by Payton St. Louis and Marissa Halbig.
On May 10, Northumberland won 7-0. "We knew this was going to be a difficult game as we lost three important starting players and we only had three substitutes on the sideline," said Coach Smith. "Friday was hot and wear and tear and lack of depth came quickly to us. Our girls did what they could against a top-class team, but Northumberland was really in the game and it seemed like every shot was done for them. We took this one by the chin and learned a lot in this match. "
Middlesex & # 39; defense was led by Sarah Blake and Natalie Cutler. The offensive was led by Delaney Ruark and Madysen Davis.
On May 13, Middlesex lost 4-0 at West Point. "It was a good game for both teams," said Coach Smith. "The score does not show how well we played against one of the best teams, our girls were very aggressive and defended very well, we had some good runs and shots but could not find the net."
The Middlesex defense was led by Sarah Blake, Karime Juarez and Natalie Cutler. The offensive was led by Delaney Ruark, Marissa Halbig and Devon Cooke.
The Lady Chargers played their last regular season game on May 14th.
