Michael Owen told Premier League Productions (02/21/21 at 5:35 pm) that Riyad Mahrez was playing Arsenal on Sunday as if he was ‘having a party’.

The left-handed cheater, who started Man City’s 1-0 win against Arsenal yesterday, was causing a number of problems on the right against the Gunners, especially during the early stages.

It was a Mahrez cross after two minutes that found 5-foot-7-inch Raheem Sterling heading home as the only goal of the game.

Mahrez turned 30 on Man City’s victory day and former Liverpool hit man Owen believes he was playing like it was his birthday.

“They’re opening Arsenal all the time,” Owen said. “I think Mahrez has given them a lot of problems on the right.

“I think it’s her 30th birthday and it looks like she’s having a little party.”

It just goes to show the talent and depth of quality that Pep Guardiola has on his hands that he can have a £ 60 million winger (BBC Sport) on Mahrez in and out of the side.

Man City rising star Phil Foden has been tearing it up recently, but Guardiola was able to rest it at the Emirates and not even bring it in.

It’s no wonder the runaway Premier League leaders have won 18 games on the rebound in all competitions and are on track to win the title at some distance if they continue on their current path.
