Money envelopes are delivered to Leeds railway station for Blue Monday

Envelopes of up to £ 50 are delivered today at Leeds railway station, with £ 1,000 in total.

In an attempt to cheer people up on Blue Monday, the cashback site Quidco.com is giving away money to 10 locations across the UK, including Leeds.

Blue Monday is seen as the most depressing day of the year, in part because of the financial pressures faced after the holiday season.

Envelopes delivered to the station will contain £ 5, £ 10, £ 20 or £ 50, reports the Mirror.

Some envelopes will also contain scratch cards and £ 1,000 in free money will be distributed in each of the 10 locations.

The tribute will take place today at Leeds railway station between 17:00 and 18:00.

There will be 100 cash envelopes up for grabs and 25 scratch cards. The scratch cards come from the national lottery.

Here are all the cash giveaway locations:

Sheffield railway station – 8am to 9am

Manchester city center – 12: 00-13: 00

Chris Hutchings, CMO of Quidco, said: “We want to celebrate our members on one of the most feared days of the year by shedding light on the UK by doing what we do best: giving money away!”

It’s Blue Monday – what should be the most depressing day of the year when bills start to land after Christmas.
