Continuous, heavy rain caused significant disruption throughout the county yesterday – and continues to this day (Thursday, June 13).
A yellow Met Office weather alert for rain will persist until 12:00.

Below are flood warnings that highlight the potential for flooding and encourage people to prepare for it
Catchment area of the river Gowy
Those in Frodsham will be affected by the rise of the Gowy River at Bridge Trafford.
There is currently a flood warning for the area, with the possibility of flooding land and roads around the Milton River and Hornsmill / Hool, Stanney Mill and Thornton Brooks, as well as their tributaries.
It is expected that river levels will remain high for the remainder of the day, with the emergency services monitoring the situation.
Catchment area of the river Dee
The river levels on the Farndon's river lane continue to rise due to heavy rains.
As a result, floods of lowland, roads and farmland are expected this morning.
Shocklach, Farndon, Handley, Lower Kinnerton, Chester and Puddington also have flooding opportunities for low-lying areas and roads around the River Dee.
More violent showers will affect the area this evening and tomorrow morning.
It is expected that the river levels will remain high in the next few days.
River Weaver catchment area
The river levels at the River Weaver in Shrewbridge continue to rise due to continued heavy rains.
There is the possibility of flooding on low-lying land and roads that surround the rivers Weaver, Ducklow and Wheelock and their tributaries.
Below are flood warnings that are more severe than flood warnings and require immediate action to anticipate flooding.
After prolonged rainfall over the Cheshire River on the Weaver at Shrewbridge is expected to rise.
It is believed that the Shrewbridge Lodge in Nantwich could flood.
The authorities are calling on people to be aware of their surroundings and to stay up to date on the current situation.
All flood protection products you own should be activated.
Due to the adverse weather conditions, there is a possibility that property will be flooded at Station Road in Winsford.
