Beryl currently offers free 30-minute rides on select dates, in partnership with the Herefordshire Council, with 1,235 free trips already made.

This offer coincides with the Christmas shopping season in Hereford. Free rides are available on Wednesday evenings (from 4:00 pm to midnight) for late night shopping and all day Saturday and Sunday. The winter promotion was organized to encourage local and sustainable shopping in the Christmas perspective.

Phillip Ellis, CEO of Beryl, said, "Beryl is very proud to partner with the Council of Herefordshire to give back to the community and thank her for supporting the project since her arrival in August by offering free rides during the Christmas time.

"This will not only be an environmentally friendly and sustainable means of transport for local Christmas shopping, but also a way to reduce congestion in the city at this peak."

To take advantage of the offer, runners must download the Beryl app and unlock a bike. There will be no unlocking fee and the first 30 minutes of the ride will be free. Runners can then take a tour of Hereford and park in one of 39 Beryl bays located throughout the city or in a prime location. A £ 2 convenience fee will apply for off-bay parking.

Beryl's dockless hybrid bikes traveled 45,000 kilometers, three months after the start of the bicycle sharing program in Hereford. In partnership with the Herefordshire Council and with the support of local logistics company Pedicargo, Beryl has now brought the project to 188 bicycles and 39 parking spaces.

Will Vaughan from local operations partner Pedicargo added, "We think it's great that people can get around more easily during the holidays. With the traffic at a record level, there is no better way to get to the city center. "
