Tottenham Hotspur had a rather distinguished guest this week on Hotspur Way when David Beckham appeared.
Beckham actually spent part of his youth career with Spurs, with the England legend playing between 1987 and 1991 before joining Brimsdown Rovers and finally Man United (Wikipedia).
Some may even recall that Beckham visited Tottenham in 2011 when he spent a training period with the first team in North London. However, Beckham did not actually represent Tottenham on the field (Guardian).
Beckham appeared on Harry Winks and Heung Min Son’s Instagram reports this week, while Spurs stars posed for photos with the ex-united man.
Jose Mourinho has now revealed that he was only able to have a brief chat with Becks, but claimed to be an exceptional boy.
He also revealed that he had invited Beckham to go out and play with the boys, but said he had forgotten his boots.
Mourinho said (Football London): “Yes. We had a little chance, not much because yesterday was another day dedicated to Mr. Simon [Felstein – Spurs press officer]. I had to do three hours of international interviews (the press office spoke with “it was 45 minutes by the way”). But yes, David is an exceptional boy and also for the boys, it is very nice to be with him. I invited him to go on the pitch, but he forgot about his boots. “
On Beckham’s reaction to his haircut, Jose added: “Mine? He already had it. Like me.”
