Myles Stephenson said she is “looking for” Kate Garraway’s two children while her husband Derek Draper remains unconscious in the hospital.
“My heart is breaking,” said the 28-year-old in the sun. “I have such a close relationship with all of them, including Derek.
“Kate knows I’m there for her in an instant – for her and the kids – everything she needs. She accepted the offer a few times, but I don’t really want to say what she asked for.
“It’s just about looking for the kids and being an older brother to them. It was very difficult. All we can do is pray for Derek and also for Kate and the kids.”
Draper fell ill with COVID-19 in late March and was subsequently put into an induced coma, however, he has yet to regain consciousness.
Garraway, 53, gave an update on her husband’s situation last month when he shared that he was “coronavirus-free” but the disease had “wreaked havoc” on his body.
The mother of two shared a touching Father’s Day post on Instagram in June where she said her children described Draper as “the best dad in the world”.
He added: “Whatever happens next, I fear it will be a long way, with an uncertain end that is not even nearly in sight right now. BUT. This week I am focusing on the hope that as a family we are going to reunite with support. of friends and overcome everything that could happen.
“I hope, because I know that the extraordinary people who keep Derek alive, stand shoulder to shoulder with me NEVER give up on him and, of course, I hope my wonderful Derek will continue to fight and will eventually begin to recover slowly. “
