“The Mandalorian” maker Jon Favreau appeared on the set of “Avatar 2” and is chatting with James Cameron, as a new photo shows.
Film director Jon Favreau should be busy with season 3 of “The Mandalorian” right now. But apparently the filmmaker takes the time to visit other projects, such as the set of “Avatar 2”. Who can blame the “Star Wars” director for that, after all, James Cameron is a veteran in the film business and famous for his visual effects. But Jon Favreau is slowly but surely making a big name for himself in the field of digital effects. But what about Favreau’s visit now?
As always, the “Avatar 2” image was posted on social media by producer Jon Landau. Landau has often provided us with fresh impressions of the “Avatar 2” set. Even with the latest photo, Landau couldn’t help but share the picture with the community. You can see director James Cameron and Jon Favreau talking together. Cameron points to something. Could “The Mandalorian” be copied from “Avatar 2”?
Since “The Jungle Book”, Jon Favreau has been relying more and more on digital effects in his works. “The Lion King” was filmed exclusively with computer animation. “The Mandalorian”, on the other hand, contained a good mixture of effects and real scenery, but it is well known that the series also uses elaborate technologies to display certain animations realistically and impressively.
Maybe Favreau would like to be inspired by his visit to “Avatar 2”. After all, James Cameron is still considered a legend when it comes to special effects. In other words, the third season of “The Mandalorian” could use a technology that is also used in the “Avatar” films. The new season of the “Star Wars” series is expected to appear at the end of 2021 and thus even before “Avatar 2”, which is scheduled to open in theaters on December 16, 2022.
