PAn Irish resident, Michael D Higgins, and his wife Sabina have offered their "most sincere condolences" to Nora's parents, siblings and extended family.
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expressed its sincere condolences to Nora's family.
The Quoirin had stated that Nora's state meant that she was not independent and had difficulty walking.
The research teams in search of the teenager had played her mother's voice in the dense Malaysian forest near where she had gone.
Police said Nora, who was traveling on an Irish passport, climbed through the window of her resort room.
After Nora's disappearance, her family described how vulnerable she was.
Describing her as a "very special person", they said she would not have gone anywhere alone.
