North Carolina has reported more than 100 daily deaths by COVID for the fourth time in a week. Last day, 107 inhabitants from North Carolina they died due to COVID-19. This brings the seven-day average of reported deaths per day to 96.
A week ago the average was 50 and a month ago it was 40.
Last week, North Carolina reported 137 deaths on Wednesday, January 6 and 115 Thursday, January 7. Sunday saw the highest death count in the pandemic at 142.
Until january13, 7,745 people they had died from the virus since the beginning of the pandemic in North Carolina.
COVID-19 Cases Rise in North Carolina
The spike in reported deaths comes after a record spike in cases just days ago. Last week saw three consecutive days of over 10,000 new cases reported: Thursday friday and saturday.
The seven-day average for daily new cases stands at 8,389. Hospitalizations too increased to 3,951, which is the second highest number of hospitalizations the state has had during the pandemic.
There were just over 2,000 people in the hospital statewide in early December.
