The rumor mill around Star Wars-Projects always boil, sometimes a little harder, sometimes a little less. Also for Obi-Wan KenobiSeries there have been numerous rumors in the past. With the announcement of Hayden Christensen, who returns as Darth Vader in front of the camera, at least one thing was confirmed. But what about the return of Liam Neeson as Qui-Gon Jinn?
Neeson’s appearance as Obi-Wan’s former teacher (Ewan McGregor) would make sense story-wise. While Obi-Wan lives in seclusion on Tatooine, he finally learns how a Jedi can contact and influence the world of the living even after his death.
The Collider took part in a recent interview with Neeson on his new film The Marksman also of the topic Star Wars and asked the actor if he’d heard that fans would like to see him again as Qui-Gon.
Neeson said no. He wants to be honest. He hadn’t heard anything about it yet. He was a bit surprised that Star Wars Still not disappearing from the screen and was promptly informed about the planned cinema and series projects. On the Obi-Wan Kenobi-Series, he finally replied that he would definitely be there again.
It is of course unclear whether Neeson will actually be allowed to appear in front of the camera again as Qui-Gon Jinn. Registered interest is far from being a role obligation.
Since Qui-Gon also in some Star Wars – The Clone Wars-Following appeared, where he was also spoken by Neeson, at least there is hope. Until then, fans can at least be happy that Christensen is back alongside McGregor. It remains to be seen whether other old friends will follow. If you look at an example Star Wars – The Mandalorian takes, there is certainly one or the other surprise appearance in it.
