Tranmere releases the pitch pitch ahead of the United FA Cup game
Tranmere Rovers manager Micky Mellon insists that “a lot of hard work” took care of the Prenton Park pitch after the FA Cup victory over Watford.
The League One team played a home game in the fourth round against Manchester United this weekend after winning 2-1 in their third round replay late Thursday night.
The original draw against Watford was postponed last week after heavy rain forced the game to be canceled.

Much of the game build-up talk was about the state of the Prenton Park pitch, which was heavily sanded before kick-off, and Mellon was asked about the playing surface after the win.
