An aircraft near the Orly airport runway in Paris was evacuated after a man allegedly brought a knife on board and planned to "commit an attack," according to reports.

The Transavia flight was to reach Barcelona.

One passenger said: "Flight Orly Barcelona !! We have been deported for a possible terrorist threat.

"We are on the track and we had to leave all our carry-on in the plane."

According to reports in France, the man 's sister reportedly contacted the airport to warn that his brother was planning to commit an attack.

French media reported that the arrested man, suspected of being armed with a ceramic knife, was not known to fight the perpetrators of terrorism.

A man at the airport tweeted: "There is a Transavia plane surrounded by police and firefighters".

No injuries were reported.

On Monday, an Indian national was arrested by border police officers (PAF) at the Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport.

She had managed to travel with a loaded pistol in the luggage of her cabin.
