There is still a long way to go before we can play Overwatch 2, but Blizzard teased some of the design changes that we will see in the heroes. We tell you the news and details, in this note!
The Blizzcon 2021 was quite different from the event in other years because it had an online modality, but it did not stop being a celebration of the sagas of Blizzard. While this was Diablo’s year thanks to the previews for Diablo 4 and the Diablo 2 remake, there was also news from Overwatch 2. As we still have a long way to go before we can play it and we do not have a specific date, what we could see is more of a behind the scenes with details of characters.
Blizzard showed redesigns of four characters as the big standouts: Widowmaker, McCree, Reaper, and Pharah. Some of them are not particularly notable, but rather stay in line with what we saw in the first game. However, in most cases what they imply is that some time has passed since we last saw them, for those who are fans of the lore.
Perhaps the most notable change, anyway, is that of Widowmaker. This character is a fan favorite, and the giant of the gaming decided to put more emphasis on the hypertechnological look of the sniper. According to the panels where the details were told, the idea was to give it a more cyberpunk look. What, with glitches?
Other changes include that now Widowmaker wear a braid that will be the terror of cosplayers, what Pharah it maintains its armor but with a translucent visor to appear less robotic, and that the colors are renewed to give it a more vivid appearance. On your side, Reaper keeps the same style with a couple of altered color details. McCree, for his part, he grew a beard. It seems that the looks from the original game.
Overwatch 2 It has no official release date, but Activision Blizzard announced that at least it will not be in 2021.
