Parkland Hospital administers covid-19 vaccines only to its patients

Parkland Hospital is not administering the COVID-19 vaccine to the general public and is focusing only on its staff and patients.

In a message on their social networks, Parkland indicated that they are already contacting patients who can be vaccinated at this time and will call others as they can access immunization.

“We appreciate the community’s interest in getting the coid-19 vaccine. At this time, Parkland is not distributing the covid vaccine to the general public. If you are a Parkland patient, we will contact you directly when you can receive the vaccine, “said the Hospital in a message posted on its social networks.

Residents of the region near Dallas who are not Parkland patients and are in the vaccination phase can register for the vaccine at the Dallas County site, on this web page.

Currently, those in group 1A (health personnel) and 1B (people over 65 or over 16 with chronic diseases) can register to receive the vaccine.

You can register if you are 65 or older; obesity (with a body mass index greater than 30 kg / m2); Cancer; type 2 diabetes; chronic kidney disease; COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease); heart diseases; an organ transplant; pregnancy; or sickle cell disease.

Since the beginning of the distribution of vaccines, this hospital has been one of the hospitals that has received the most doses of immunization in Texas, in an effort to reach the most disadvantaged sectors.

Parkland patients who belong to group 1B are already being contacted directly by the hospital.

The contact is being made by phone or through MyChart accounts.

“When it is your turn to receive the covid-19 vaccine, we will contact you through MyChart, and you can schedule your vaccination appointment directly through MyChart. You don’t need to call your doctor or clinic, ”Parkland said on its website.

If you are not a Parkland Hospital patient and are in phase 1B vaccination, you must register with the Dallas County site for an appointment to receive your doses. You can register on this website.

“Although Parkland is not currently distributing the COVID-19 vaccine to the general public, we hope to do so in the near future. At this time, we do not know when we will receive vaccines for the general public, ”Parkland said.

As Parkland has more vaccine availability, it will update its notices to the public.

Regardless of the county in which you live, you can go to one of the mega vaccination centers in Texas to receive immunization against covid-19. Six of these centers will operate in North Texas.
