The new bottles are 25% thinner than the old ones, in order to make it easier to grip and pour. PepsiCo took a hands-on approach to making the new carbonated containers by investigating the average hand size, which the company’s research shows is between 7 and 8.6 inches.
The company then determined a more manageable bottle to grip measured at a circumference of 10.4 inches, or three inches, smaller than the previous circumference (13.4 inches) of its 2-liter bottles.
“This redesign makes it substantially easier for consumers to take the bottles off the shelf and pour them at home. While an immense amount of work has gone into creating this at the operational level, the differentiators and consumer experience make it all worth it, ”said Emily Silver, vice president of innovation and capabilities for PepsiCo Beverages North America.
In addition to the above, PepsiCo launched its new cola Pepsi Apple Pie. Its flavor has “warm notes of cinnamon, the taste of a buttery crust and the freshness of a fresh apple. The creamy, cinnamon aroma evokes the nostalgic sensation of apple pie on a chilly fall night, “said PepsiCo.
