A man was seriously injured after being hit by a car tonight.

Humberside police blocked Beverley Road in both directions after the crash in which a man was hospitalized.

It is believed that the man was hit by a red BMW when he crossed the road between Alexandra Road and Lambert Street at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, June 12.

In a statement, a spokeswoman warned drivers and pedestrians to stay away from the scene during the investigation. The man is being treated in the Hull Royal Infirmary.

She said, "Beverley Road, Hull is currently closed between Alexandra Road and Lambert Street after a car collided with a pedestrian today, Wednesday, June 12, around 6:40 pm.

"The pedestrian was taken to hospital to be seriously injured. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible. "

At 8.30pm, the police cordon remained in force, despite the police reopening the street on Grafton Street.
