Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau is arriving on an emergency visit to the Ukrainian capital today. The Polish Foreign Ministry informed about this.
The trip “is associated with a threat to peace on the borders of Ukraine,” the ministry said in a statement.
The head of the department will discuss with the Ukrainian authorities the situation on the border, near which Russia previously concentrated significant military forces. Moscow explained the movement of troops with exercises and stated that the situation did not threaten other countries.
Earlier it was reported that Poland, Lithuania, Britain, Canada and the United States discussed Ukraine and Russia’s military activity in the border areas. The US authorities, represented by President Joe Biden, promised support to Ukraine “in the face of Russian aggression” and demanded an explanation from the Russian Federation in connection with the pulling together of troops.
