Emergency services blocked a high road from Hull Wednesday night following a serious accident.

A man is currently in the hospital with serious injuries after "skidding" under a red BMW at Beverley Road.

Police and ambulance paramedics in the Yorkshire Ambulance Service were on scene and drivers were advised to stay out of the way. The road was closed between Alexandra and Lambert Streets.

The accident occurred just after the Jet garage.

The police urged people to stay away from the area. Our reporter on the spot said: "Everyone is turning around, there is an ambulance that has just come out of a street with the light on.

"There is a red car in the middle of the road."
