SCHOOLS across Herefordshire are facing many challenges in running the school at home and looking after the children of key workers.
However, many are documenting this extraordinary moment and keeping in touch with pupils using social media and pictures.
St Mary’s EC elementary school, Fownhope, is doing just that and getting regular contacts from students and families.
Fourth year student William Stedman wrote a piece as part of an English topic.
It’s nice to have a child’s perspective in this difficult time, and William has worked hard to get his information and quotes from teachers to put together his relationship.
Principal Tim Milne said: “We have balanced educational and pastoral care.
“Although we have provided online work set up, encouraging families to make the most of the situation, there are also many applied learning opportunities that we cannot always teach in school.
“For example, the children made dance videos to support the NHS, which applies to the creation of a story, physical education and computer science and, above all, keeps all ages involved and creates happiness.
“These are practical and emotional skills necessary for life.”
