A young mother tragically died when her neck was caught in a car window. Her toddler had pressed the switch to close the car window.
Yulia Sharko, who celebrated her 21st birthday on the day of the accident in the Belarusian village of Staroe Selo, tried to lift her 2-year-old baby out of the car's half-open front seat window.
As she pulled the Torkel out of the stationary BMW, the toddler pushed the automatic switch, which then closed the car window.
The mother's air supply was interrupted, the police said. She was taken to the Brest District Hospital after her husband found her unconscious shortly after the accident.
She died eight days after the incident. A local report said that "her brain has suffered irrevocably due to trapped arteries".
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of the young mother.
