As Microsoft has spent the past twelve months adding eight new studios to its first party lineup, Sony has marginalized itself. Well, it looks like Sony will follow in the footsteps of Microsoft in the coming months and buy more studios when a new job ad is expected.
This job ad says:
Sony PlayStation is looking for an M & A program manager with 2-3 years of relevant business experience for a contract period of 6-9 months. The M & A program manager will assist the company with due diligence and create project timelines to ensure that all acquisition integration activities are on track.
The phrase "acquisition integration activities" gives the impression that Sony wants to buy some new studios in the coming months. They need someone to help them integrate with the PlayStations Worldwide Studios ecosystem.
But who will it be? People have long thought that Sony Housemarque, the creator of the fantastic Resogun and the upcoming Stormdivers, should take over. It's hard to imagine someone with whom Sony has a long relationship. Who do you think will be acquired?
