Armed officers flooded a busy street this afternoon after a man with a large sword was discovered.
The armed police visited Rectory Road at 2:35 pm this afternoon after receiving reports of concerns about the well-being of a man.
A police spokesman said, "We were called on Saturday, November 10, at 2:35 pm for concern about the well-being of a man on Rectory Road in Pitsea.
"According to reports, a man had a sword and threatened.
"Officers participated and one man was arrested."
A cordon was placed around the pharmacy while the officials were investigating.
